Bus Franchising Consultation

Buses connect us to jobs, education, healthcare, family and friends. Now, people across the North East are being asked for their views on proposals that could change how local bus services are planned and delivered in the future. 

The proposals could lead to simpler fares, more reliable services, better connections and a stronger voice for local people. The consultation also looks at the responsibilities and risks involved in bringing buses under public control. 

Whatever your view, we want to hear it. 

The consultation closes at 9am on 28 September 2026.
