Our Student Finance Advisers provide professional and impartial advice to all students. They will tailor the advice to your needs.
They can provide advice on bursaries, scholarships, and budgeting.
Our advisers are members of NASMA (National Association of Student Money Advisers).
Scholarships, bursaries and prizes
There are a range of scholarships and bursaries available to students.
Funding from charities and trusts
Many external bodies and educational trusts offer funds for students. The eligibility, the application process and the value of awards vary between organisations.
NUSU Activities Access Fund
The Activities Access Fund is open to students who meet the eligibility criteria. This fund helps towards the costs of activities offered by the Students' Union. Successful eligible students can receive up to £350 per academic year.

Money matters: Canvas course
Home UK undergraduate students wanting to get a grasp on their finances should complete our money management course.
The course takes approximately an hour to complete. You can go through the modules at your own pace and don’t need to finish it all at once.
There are seven modules:
- How am I going to manage?: explains income and expenditure basics, including loans and working during your studies.
- Budgeting: offers practical examples of how to keep track of your cash.
- Supermarket shopping and healthy eating habits: provides you with tips on shopping and eating.
- Staying safe from fraud: focuses on keeping your money where it belongs - with you.
- Money and your wellbeing: shows you that the benefits of looking after your money.
- Gambling harms: contains information and advice about staying safe from gambling.
- Money after university: offers tips on how to manage your finances after graduation.
