Do you play an orchestral instrument? Please audition for the Newcastle University Symphony Orchestra!

Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 19:00-21:30 and the first concert takes place on Sunday 15 November, with repertoire including Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, Humperdinck’s Overture to Hansel and Gretel, and Sibelius’ En Saga. There will be a further concert in Spring 2027.
Auditions will take place from the 23—25 September and you will be allocated an audition slot in advance.
Audition
For the audition you will be asked to play; something of your choice (either a piece, study, or extract, lasting no more than 6 minutes); a prepared musical extract (which will be sent to you in advance), and a short piece of sight-reading. The whole audition will last no more than 15 minutes.
