My role

I am one of the Business Development Managers in the Faculty of Medical Sciences with responsibility for:

• Population Health Sciences Institute
• School of Dental Sciences
• School of Medical Education
• School of Psychology

I manage intellectual property (IP) and work with academics to commercialise opportunities, and develop interactions with industry and other external partners.

I can help with:

• Development of applications to non-traditional funding sources and translational funding pots
• Intellectual property queries
• Patent applications
• Commercialisation of IP via license deals or spin-out formation
• Commercial research contracts

Background

Prior to this role, I worked in the Commercial Projects Team, managing contracts and income distribution for consultancy and CPD. I started my career in Market Research, working for clients including universities and professional membership organisations to advice on business interaction.

• BSc Medical Microbiology and Immunology
• PhD Tolerogenic dendritic cells for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis
• Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research
