Nick is a graduate of Newcastle University (BSc Zoology, 1977). He has had a long-standing relationship with the University, having founded and later chaired, the Graduates' Society in 1984. He has also been a benefactor and supporter of the Sports Coaching Fund and the Boat Club since 2000.
Nick is a recently retired Project Director of government and business contracts and was a freelance business consultant. He remains a Patron and Benefactor of the Martin Parr Foundation and Blue Star Foundation.
Nick has also had a long career in the Information and Technology Communications Industry. He was Interim Client Services Director, Consumer Banking Europe at ACI Universal Payments in 2015, and a Director of Payment Services at The Logic Group from 2006 to 2012 (where he worked with Antony Jones, previous Chair of Convocation).
Nick was made an Honorary Fellow of the University in 2006 for his work in creating the Graduates Society and for his contribution to the development of rowing at Newcastle.
