Induction 2025
Welcome
We hope you're looking forward to joining us as a new student at Newcastle University.
Induction starts on Monday, 15 September 2025 for all new and returning students. This one-week induction period will give you a chance to get to know the University, the school, and your programme of study. Attending your induction sessions is important so you can make the most out of everything on offer to you.
Please also make sure to read our Student Welcome pages which will give you all of the information you need and what to do before starting.
Teaching will start on Monday, 22 September 2025.

Canvas
After completing your registration, you’ll get access to Canvas. In addition to attending the in-person Pharmacy induction session, you should also log into Canvas to:
- Complete the Induction 2025 module
- Complete the Declaration of Concordance form and Placement Declaration form
- Read the degree programme and Stage 1 handbooks
Use the information in these documents throughout the year when you need some guidance as to what to do. Of course, it cannot hope to cover every eventuality, so be prepared to ask someone when you require help or information.
Peer mentors
Every new undergraduate student at Newcastle University is assigned a Peer Mentor, whose role it is to welcome you to the University and help you to make a smooth transition to your programme of study. Find out what to expect and how to make the most of the scheme.
Get to know us
Key people are your Personal Tutor, the Degree Programme Director, your lecturers and the admin staff in the School Office. We are all here to help you through your time studying at Newcastle.
