What is the best part of your job?

The fact that the products we design and promote, including fast chargers, photovoltaic energy storage devices, and smart home devices are making clients feel that making the ecosystem more sustainable is convenient.

Studying at Newcastle

What did you enjoy the most about studying at Newcastle?

The most impressive part is the teaching resources of campus, they are fascinating.

The library is great and well-organised into different study areas. Staff take responsibility for lesson quality and assignment guidance. I'm very grateful to Mr. Jonathan Ward and Miss. Ramona Slusarczyk. Their tutoring in class and the workshop was excellent. The campaign we worked on - raising awareness of xenophobia toward Asians during Covid-19 - was insightful, far-reaching, and will always be memorable for me.

What skills and knowledge have you found useful in your career?

To never be satisfied with a “big idea” and go for a bigger one if possible.

To be bold and find a better option is the biggest influence my lecturers had on me.

Once during a brainstorming session, I motivated the team to think bolder and to be critical to their ideas. They already had really great ideas but I got them to think about using those ideas as a base to aim even higher.

I was trying to get team members to improve their initial ideas until they were certain they couldn't improve upon them. There was a dispute over how far the ideas could be taken, but there was also mutual respect, as we eventually provided improved planning ideas which were executed successfully and which the clients praised highly.
