The UK Government has placed research, innovation and skills at the centre of its longer term economic plan. Delivering the ambitions of the innovation strategy requires collaboration between universities and business.

In the North East of England, our region's five universities are already working together to develop graduates and workforce skills, support innovation, economic growth and inward investment.

Together, we:

  • deliver free innovation support to SMEs 
  • create new companies, jobs and investment opportunities
  • co-create intellectual property and undertake knowledge exchange with

    • voluntary, community and social enterprise sector
