iGEM Director of Development visits Newcastle

Dr. Kim de Mora, Director of Development at iGEM Foundation, is visiting Newcastle on Thursday 8th/December/2016. He will tour the Centre for Synthetic Biology and the Bioeconomy and meet with local iGEM cohorts (past and present) as well as with members of the EPSRC Portabolomics Programme grant. Kim is one of the key staff in organising and running the hugely popular International Genetically Engineered machine competition (igem.org). Kim is a major proponent of synthetic biology.

Originally a mechanical engineer, he carried out his PhD in yeast synthetic biology at Edinburgh University before taking up the post at the iGEM foundation in Boston in the US.
