About Siyuan
I hold a Master of Laws from Japan and am currently pursuing a PhD in Politics at Newcastle University, UK.
I have worked as a research assistant on multiple projects and taught undergraduate Politics and Sociology, demonstrating my strong commitment to both research and teaching.
Project description
My PhD project aims to facilitate the implementation of water adaptation at the national and subnational levels.
Since there are implementation gaps in climate change adaptation policies, I aim to provide further implications for NGOs to help navigate these implementation gaps.
Research interests
My primary research interests lie in climate change and political science. I also have a broader passion and expertise in the energy transition and local climate services.
Having closely worked with the United Nations, I have interned at UNCRD (United Nations Centre for Regional Development), focusing on the circular economy and sustainable transportation.
Additionally, I have attended the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) conferences as a representative from Newcastle University and presented my research outputs to the wider community.
I am open to collaborating with civil society, consultancy firms, international organizations, and academic institutions on water policy, energy transition, and broader climate change issues.
Personal interests
I am passionate about international environmental governance and enthusiastic about linguistic studies. I am fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
