PARTNERS in Engineering, Maths and Physics

PARTNERS in Engineering, Maths and Physics

Since 1999 PARTNERS has supported over 8,000 students in their journey to Newcastle University, who have faced barriers and disruption to their education.

For 2023 entry, we have expanded eligibility for our PARTNERS Programme Supported Entry Route to applicants to the following undergraduate courses within Engineering, Maths and Physics.

Why are applicants to these subjects eligible for the PARTNERS programme?

This expansion is in response to a predicted national skills shortage identified by Government in these key economic subject areas. Through the intensive support offered by PARTNERS, we aim to support applicants with the impact of lost learning as a result of the pandemic who want to progress to these vital subject areas.

Applicants must have applied to one of the above degree programmes and meet the following essential eligibility criteria:

  • Be resident in the UK.
  • Have home student status for fees purposes.*
  • Not hold a higher education qualification (eg a degree or higher degree).

*This means that you have the right to reside in the UK, or have been granted permission from the Home Office. If you are an asylum seeker, you must be in the process of applying for the right to reside in the UK.

Please note: If you are applying for multiple courses at Newcastle University but only meet this specific criteria, you can only be made the lower PARTNERS offer for the above listed courses. If you do not meet any of the other PARTNERS widening participation criteria, any application to courses outside of the above list will be processed in the standard way.

PARTNERS offers a wide range of support to aid the transition from school/college to university level study including:

  • Application support
  • An offer up to three grades lower for your chosen degree programme(s)

But that’s not all, the PARTNERS team continue to support you throughout your university studies! Find out more about the benefits of taking part

In order to take part you must submit a PARTNERS application form alongside your UCAS application. Check your eligibility and apply now!
