At Newcastle Dental School we aspire to be an inclusive community and to treat everybody with dignity and respect.

Our EDI strategy is shaped both by our commitment to fairness and equality and our aspiration to achieve at the highest level.
We consistently aim to hold ourselves to our school values of inclusion and innovation, collaboration and compassion and integrity and impact. Guided by these values, we work to create a positive and supportive culture that supports everybody to make a contribution and reach their potential.
Key Tasks
- Implementing University EDI Strategy and Objectives within the school.
- Actively contributing to the Faculty of Medical Sciences EDI committee.
- Integrating EDI principles into all of our core business including teaching and research.
- Organising and supporting events that highlight and celebrate diversity and inclusion.
- Conducting targeted projects to expand our understanding and practice.
- Reporting EDI matters to the School’s Executive Committee.

Our focus includes, but is not limited to, areas defined by the nine protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
