Box Types

This page shows the different types of box you can use on your site. It introduces the key features of each box type and when they should be used.

Top task box - dark

Use this box type for top tasks with some teaser text to encourage your users to click through to other areas of your site. Teaser text should be a single paragraph of no more than 20 words.

They should primarily be used on your site's homepage.

Top task box - light

Use this box type for top tasks without teaser text. You can add secondary tasks in the content area. These should be formatted as a bulleted list of no more than four items.

These boxes can be used on homepages and section openers or key navigational pages.

You can also use this box type without any following content.

General purpose box

This box style can be used to give more flexibility to the content added. It does not require an image and the title is not linked.

In the content area you should include an introductory sentence plus a short bulleted list. The box must contain at least one call to action with a link.

You can see this box type in use for the seasonal messages underneath the slider on the University homepage and without an image on the Information for Schools and Colleges homepage.
