Geoff has over 15 years of experience as a teacher and lecturer in the Politics department at Newcastle University.

Geoff's PhD was related to the study of the British Labour Party in the post-war period: Crosland's Socialism. A History of the Labour Party's revisionist tradition, 1951-81 (2006): 435593.pdf

Current research interests in UK politics include: Chief Whips and whipping operations; changes of parliamentary allegiance in the House of Commons.
Geoff has taught on various modules within the Politics department at Newcastle University. These include modules on British politics, EU politics and Comparative politics.
He is currently Module Leader for a Stage 1 Politics module - UK Politics: Westminster and Beyond (POL1015)
