Dr Jocelyn Mawdsley

Senior Lecturer in European Politics


Area of Expertise

Jocelyn Mawdsley’s research focuses on European, British, French, and German security policies from a political economy perspective. She focuses on defence and security technologies, industries, trade and regulation. She is a co-editor of the journal European Security (Taylor and Francis) and Chair of the International Board, Bonn International Center for Conversion. She has experience of writing policy reports for the European Commission and Parliament as well as for national ministries of defence.

Current Work

I am currently working on projects about the EU and strategy, the political economy of security and defence technologies and research policy. I continue to publish on British, French and German security policies. I am co-editor of the journal European Security.
