Research
Research Interests
Contemporary political philosophy, multiculturalism, toleration, recognition, deontology, human rights, group rights, the nature of liberalism, freedom of belief and expression, democratic theory, international and global justice.
The theme that runs through most of my research is human diversity - especially diversities of belief, value and culture - and questions of how social, political and legal arrangements should respond to that diversity. My current work focuses on issues of toleration and recognition and on questions concerning the status of groups.
