Background

I am the MA Degree Programme Director (DPD) and Director of Postgraduate Teaching and in the Department of Politics.

Academic and professional background


I completed a MA and PhD in the Department of Politics at Newcastle University in the 1990s. Upon completion of my PhD I joined the Health Policy Unit at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as a Senior Research Assistant. Between 2000 and 2010, I worked as a researcher in the higher education and public sectors in the North East of England. I also taught at Northumbria University and for the Open University. I came back to the Department of Politics in January 2011 as a teaching assistant and in August 2016 I was appointed to the post of Lecturer.
