Anatomy at Newcastle University

Welcome to the Newcastle University Anatomy Department

Our students have the privilege to learn anatomy using prosections and via full body dissection (programme dependant). The Anatomy Laboratory is licensed under The Human Tissue Act 2004, regulated by the Human Tissue Authority.

We also use a variety of models and state of the art 3D anatomy platforms to enhance learning. These include Complete Anatomy, Virtual Human Dissector and our Sectra terminal. The platforms allow the students to appreciate the 3D nature of anatomy and apply their knowledge to clinical imaging, an essential skill in clinical practice.

The facilities are used by a variety of different programmes within the University.
