Medical Education Programme

This programme helps students to develop a scholarly approach to medicine.

Structure and modules

Our course allows medical educators to enhance their educational practice, skills and knowledge. You will gain expertise in effective medical education in the context of your practice. You will also develop a scholarly approach through evaluating established practice and educational initiatives.

The programme has a modular structure and includes academic credits. You will receive credits for each module you complete.

For further information about modules, please see our online postgraduate prospectus.

Qualifications

Students work towards one of three qualifications:

  • Certificate in Medical Education (part time)
  • Diploma in Medical Education (part time)
  • Master's in Medical Education (part time or full time)

The Certificate in Medical Education is professionally recognised by the Higher Education Academy. Participants who complete this are eligible for further opportunities.

They may then apply for an Associate Fellowship or a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
