Background

I am a legal academic with expertise in teaching Criminal Law and Legal Institutions and Method. I have responsibility for transition and induction and I am involved in several outreach projects with local schools (including the Career Ready Think Law Project and a Project Based Leaning Project with a local college). I am also the UG Deputy Selector and one of the Law School's recruitment officers.  I have a particular interest in Learning and Teaching.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and also a qualified solicitor with experience in criminal litigation. As a prosecutor I worked principally in the Magistrates' Court dealing with breaches of environmental, food regulations and health and safety legislation. 

Teaching

I teach Criminal Law to Stage 2 undergraduates and Legal Institutions and Method to Stage 1s.  I have also taught elements of Contract Law. I have over 20 years experience of teaching Law at various levels. 

Research

I am interested in transition both into and out of the University.
