Placement Providers

If you are a life science company and interested in working with a student, we would love to hear from you.

Support and opportunity

Support and opportunity

A professional placement year is an optional 9-12 month placement taken by our students after year 2 of their degree. Students on their professional placement year work in many roles, for example in laboratories or in office-based positions. A wide variety of companies provide a diverse range of opportunities across the life sciences sector, and we place our students with companies ranging from SMEs to global corporations.

Hosting a professional placement year student will raise your profile at Newcastle University, and increase awareness of your brand. Further opportunities for knowledge exchange and enterprise partnerships are possible.

We can talk you through the process of taking a placement year student and what it entails, and can support you with the application and selection process.  We also support companies and students throughout the year via regular contact and organised placement visits.
