We hope you're looking forward to joining us at Newcastle University's School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences.
Induction starts on Monday 21st September 2026. This one-week induction period will give you a chance to get to know the University, the school and your programme of study. Attending your induction sessions is important so you can make the most out of everything on offer to you.
Teaching will start on Monday 28th September 2026.

Induction welcome sessions
Your first induction session will be held on Monday 21st September. The time and location will vary depending on your course.
Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences
9am - 11am
David Hall Lecture Theatre, Medical School
Nutrition and Dietetics, Sport and Exercise Science
9.30am - 11am
Curtis Auditorium, Herschel Building
You will be introduced to the rest of your induction week timetable once you are registered.
Your induction programme will include in-person events and online training. You will be able to access the online elements via Canvas, our virtual learning environment. You'll have access to Canvas after completing your registration.
Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) will also be running a full induction programme including fairs, discounted and free activities, events and special offers.
