Add media to content

Image and documents

Add an image to content using any component that has a Media element included. This Media Element enables you to browse your Media Library folder and select an image. Many of our components have a media element, eg:

  • Page Header
  • Dual Column (image/text)
  • Single Image
  • Promotional Banner

Before you add an image to a page, make sure it is cropped to the correct dimensions for the component.

Add a document link into content using any component that contains a content editing field, such as:

  • General Purpose Text
  • Expandable Text
  • Dual Column

Make sure files are optimised before being uploaded to T4 Media Library.

Add an image to content

Choose your content type and add content as required.

Find the 'Image field' and click Select Media (this opens a Media Library screen).

Click on your Media Library folder then search for the image. Click the image name to bring a thumbnail of the image and the file path for the item into component.

Image Alt Text field: add a description to tell the user what’s happening in the image. Alt Text is used by Screen Readers to inform visually impaired users about the content of the image. Learn more about images and accessibility.

Save changes and Preview the content. Check that the image works in both mobile and desktop view.

Add a document link to content

You can upload a document to the Media Library and link to the document from any component that has a content editing field.

Link text should contain the title of the document, and provide information about the file type and size of the document. Follow this best practice format example:

Writing for the Web (PDF: 50KB)

The document name you put in the Media Library creates the link text which will display in content.

You’ll find the file size of your document listed in the Media Library table.

To add a document link to content:

  1. Edit your content to place the cursor where the document link will appear.
  2. Click the Insert from Media icon found in the editor toolbar (this action opens a Media Library screen).
  3. In the Media Library screen click your Files folder to find your document in the Media Table (make a note of the file size displayed in the table).
  4. Click the document name visible in the Media table. T4 goes back to the content editing screen where the document link will now appear as link text.
  5. Add the document type and file size in brackets after the link text, eg (PDF: 50KB)
  6. Save Changes, then Preview the page to check that link is working.
