Overview

This training is for staff who edit content on Newcastle University websites. It will help you understand how people read online and how you can write for them effectively.

What you'll learn 

The key things you'll learn about writing for the web are:

  • what responsive design is
  • how people read online
  • how to structure content 
  • our top five tips for writing online

Time needed to complete this module

You'll need to set aside about 30 minutes for each set of slides. But you can read them in your own time, at your own pace. 

After you finish 

You will need to complete both assessments. These questions test your understanding of writing for the web and what you have learnt by working through our slides.
