- tailored sessions on current topics within international trade

As part of JUST 2024, participating Newcastle University students spent a week in Geneva during which they engaged directly with international civil servants and diplomats and learned from world leading academics with expertise on international trade. As part of the activities planned for them, they visited international organisations such as the World Trade Organisation and the International Trade Organisation and participated in negotiations and policy drafting simulation activities together with around 100 students from the other participating institutions.
In the second week, Newcastle University students also got a unique opportunity to undertake an internship in one of the foreign missions based in Geneva. In the past, our students undertook internships with the Embassies of the Maldives, Cyprus, Barbados, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the World Trade Organisation.
