I joined the regional GP lecturer team at Newcastle University in 2020 after completing a HEE funded Post CCT GP Fellowship in Medical Education.

I support teaching practices in the Gateshead area.

In September 2025 I joined the Learning Communities team as a clinical research fellow. My doctoral research explores faculty development and workforce sustainability, with a focus on promoting flourishing among clinical educators. My other research interests include preparedness for practice, service-learning and assessment, with a focus on entrustment and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in an undergraduate primary care context. I am also interested in student belonging, particularly within large and geographically dispersed medical schools.

I am a GP at Sacriston Surgery in Durham.

My working days at the University are Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday.
