Background
I am a General Practitioner and Teaching and Research Fellow, previously and NIHR In Practice Fellow from 2019-2022. My research is in the field of Medical Education. I am particularly interested in role modelling in primary care medical education, and in securing the future GP workforce.
I Chair the North East England Faculty of the Royal College of GPs, and I co-convene the leadership strand of the Changing Face of Medicine project, under the Academy of the Medical Royal Colleges. I act as deputy lead for the GP medical education research team at Newcastle University.
Teaching
I teach Newcastle University MBBS year three students on a weekly basis during their clinical attachments to general practice.
