Background

Matteo Nicolini, Ph.D. (2005), University of Verona, is Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Verona where he teaches Comparative Law and Comparative Constitutional Traditions. 

He is also Researcher at the Institute for Comparative Federalism at the European Academy of Bolzano/Bozen (EURAC).

He is member of the SLS.

He is co-editor of the "Revista General de Derecho Público Comparado".

Visiting Scholar, University of Stellenbosch (RSA) in 2017; Visiting Fellow, Newcastle University Law School (UK) 2017; Visiting Lecturer, University of Tübingen (Germany) in 2018, where he taught Legal Geography.

He delivered lectures in several Italian Universities, as well as in the Universities of Lille (France), Innsbruck (Austria), Barcelona and Madrid (Spain), Stellenbosch (South Africa), Alberto Hurtado (Chile), Liverpool John Moores and Newcastle University (UK)

His fields of research include comparative method, Italian and European constitutional law, federalism and regionalism, judicial review of legislation, law and literature, African law, legal geography, and legal linguistics. He is the author of monographs, essays, and articles in Italian, Spanish, and English.

He is external partner of the "Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice" – Liverpool John Moores University, UK https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/research/centres-and-institutes/centre-for-the-study-of-law-in-theory-and-practice  

He is also member of manifold Law Journal boards, of the "Hannah Arendt Center for Political Studies" www.arendtcenter.it, as well as of the "Centro di ricerca sulle cittadinanze" www.ceric.info.


Research
