I used my time at Newcastle University to understand what my passion was. After initially joining the degree with a keen interest in Nutrition, my placement year opened me up to the world of food product development.

The course gave me an excellent grounding in Nutrition and Food Science but also helped me develop skills in scientific writing, research and communication.


I have since used these skills to progress from a process development technician to my current role as R&D Project Manager. My current role involves managing development of new seasonings and flavours for snack foods, overseeing the whole process from concept to launch. I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to work for a global company, this opportunity was a result of the vast experience gained during my placement year.

I look back at my time at Newcastle with fond memories, the school and city will always have a special place in my heart.
