Background
Rebecca Townsend is a Lecturer in Human Nutrition within the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sports Sciences at Newcastle University.
Research
My research interests primarily relate to the role of nutrition and exercise to support healthy ageing and disease prevention. Specifically, this includes the influence of such modifiable factors on brain health across the life-course, to best inform the nature and timing of preventative strategies. I also have an interest in behaviour change interventions to promote brain health across both general and specific populations (e.g., children, adolescents, older adults and athletes).
