Flex Fund Call: Cross Hub

The Supergen Energy Networks Hub, Supergen ORE Hub and Supergen Energy Storage Network+, cross-hub call brings together Academics, Researchers, Practitioners and companies to explore the common challenges, synergies and opportunities with a goal to achieving step changes towards the highly ambitious net-zero carbon 2050 vision. Funding was awarded to 4 cross-discipline collaborations from across the three Supergen Hubs in April 2021.  Funding will enable new and adventurous research, ultimately leading to further grant applications through existing funding bodies.

A total of £150,000 at 80% FEC was available in this call for pilot studies resulting from each workshop, with a maximum value per proposal of £20,000 at 80% FEC.  Applications were welcomed from all UKRI eligible UK researchers, i.e. applicants based in UK Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research Council Institutes and Centres, and Independent Research Organisations (IROs) approved by UKRI.

A stipulation of the call was for the proposal team to include, either as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator, at least one team member who was in attendance at one of the two workshops held on the 27 October and the 6 November 2020.
