Chair of the Educational Leads group
We are delighted to announce that Professor Janice Ellis, Director of Education at the School of Dental Sciences, has been appointed as Chair of the Education Leads Group of the Dental Schools Council.
The Dental Schools Council is the representative body for dental schools across the UK and Ireland. They work to improve the quality in dental education, clinical training and dental research, and to facilitate sharing of experience between institutions.
Unified approach required by Schools
The Education Leads group is a new subsection of Dental Schools Council, established by the new DSC Chair, Professor Chris Tredwin.
Its purpose is to bring together the education Leads from all UK Schools to tackle some longstanding problems and new concerns related to the current pandemic that require a unified approach by the Schools.
It is particularly important that when developing solutions for these problems the UK schools work together to find solutions that are acceptable to all and provide a cohesive voice in conversations with other stakeholders.
