My interests are surrounding experimental photonics, especially telecoms range characterization of fibre devices, fibre based device manufacture, numerical modeling and software programming with Python. With an increasing interest in open-source projects including Python and the FDTD software MEEP.
I previously worked with Prof Noel Healy on my PhD titled "Perovskite Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators" here at Newcastle University where we developed ultra-high quality factor cylindrical micro-resonators with a perovskite single-crystal filling. I will be defending my thesis in the near future.
I previously worked with Dr Victor Pacheco Pena working with metamaterials for linear computing. Including the study of perfect splitting in rectangular waveguides and the modelling of photonic crystal waveguide junctions.
I currently work with Prof Noel Healy where we will be examining highly nonlinear perovskite based fiber based devices.
