Enrich Your Experience

There are plenty of extra curricular activities to get involved in while studying Combined Honours.

The Student-Staff Committee

You can apply to be a course representative, which would allow you to attend Committee meetings. You'll be responsible for representing the views of the students on your course.

Course reps meet with staff at a Student Staff Committee meeting to discuss ideas and issues. The Committee will carry out any necessary actions to come out of the meetings.

You'll also work to develop new and innovative ideas to improve the experience of students on the course.

Combined Honours Society

The Combined Honours Society is run for students, by students. They host a range of events such as:

  • pub quizzes
  • beach trips
  • movie nights
  • city tours
  • escape rooms and
  • charity fundraisers

Work placement year

Between Stage 2 and 3 you can take a 9-12 month work placement, extending your degree by one year. Most placements are paid, and you’ll receive help from our Careers Service to find and apply for vacancies.

Placements can help you:

  • Apply your skills and knowledge to the real world
  • Develop your confidence and gain experience in the workplace
  • Try out a career choice, and make contacts within the industry

University activities

The Student's Union has a wide range of activities to get involved in, from social events and sports to volunteering.

You can volunteer with the Sustainability Team on areas of environmental management.

We have lots of opportunities to gain work experience. There are regular internships available that are unique to Combined Honours. The Careers Service also helps place students into work experience roles.
