Opportunities to visit campus, meet our academics and learn more about our courses.

Attending one of on-campus or virtual events is a great way to learn more about us and to get an insight into what life as a HCA student can look like. If you haven't yet applied for one of our courses, you can find more information on our courses and information below.If you have already attended on event, you can find additional materials and information about our staff, students and courses. 

Undergraduate

We hold undergraduate open days for prospective undergraduate students in summer and autumn.

The open days provide the perfect opportunity to come and look around the campus.

We hold postgraduate open days for prospective students to look around the campus.  You can talk to staff and current students. Check the Postgraduate website for further information about our on-campus events.

Our next on-campus Open Days will take place in early 2023. Check back here for updated details in the new year.

Take a tour

If you're unable to visit us on campus, taking a virtual tour is a great way to get to know us better.  The Facilities Tour video below explores the areas of campus that students of History, Classics and Archaeology use the most, including the state-of-the-art Wolfson Lab and the Great North Museum. Meet the HCA Academics

Leading researchers in their field of study, our academics are passionate about the modules they teach.  Throughout your time with us, you'll get the chance to learn from many of our academic members of staff who will deliver lectures, lead seminar groups and work one-to-one with you to prepare for assessments and examinations.
