Background
Having successfully studied for an MMath degree followed by a PhD (Thesis title: The Neolithic of Europe: Mathematical Modelling and Radiocarbon Dates) in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Newcastle University I went on to train as a Secondary School Mathematics Teacher. I taught GCSE Mathematics and ALevel Mathematics and Further Mathematics in local secondary schools for 7 years and in March 2016 returned to the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Newcastle University to take up the role of Lecturer and Transition Officer.
As Transition Officer my roles and responsibilities include:
 Stage 1 pastoral and academic support
 Monitoring Stage 1 attendance and academic performance
 Stage 1 induction (extended for 202021)
 Providing Stage 1 generic dropins
 Tutorial delivery and assistance
 Teaching (although not in Stage 1 Maths programmes).
Other roles and responsibilities:
