An Enchanting Evening at “The Secret Garden” with NUMed

Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia's (NUMed) students traded in their lab coats for fabulous floral finery during the highly anticipated Secret Garden NUMed Ball 2023, which was held at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour on 18 March 2023. Guests took the opportunity to make a grand entrance as they dressed to the nines for the annual ball.
Good food, good friends and good entertainment are three hallmarks of a great event, and the NUMed Ball was no exception. In addition to a generous spread of food, the event featured a string of performances by NUMed's own student cohort throughout the evening, beginning with an electrifying dance performance by the NMDC dance troupe. Among others, Marthini mesmerised the crowd with her soulful singing, while the melodious strains of Rou Ann's magical fingers as she tickled the ivory keys soothed souls. Guests were also treated to a heart-thumping drum performance by Aaron as well as two more performances by talented singers Lydia and Man Yue as the night progressed.
In the midst of all the revelry, two lucky draws were held with a wok, XiaoMi watch, Samsung earbuds and two one-night stays at Fraser Place as the grand prizes. Other prizes included a thermos tumbler, mouse, luggage bag, thermal mug, Starbucks gift card, laptop bags and ChowChow food vouchers.
Besides that, an appreciation ceremony was held for NUMed's beloved Professor Chris Baldwin and Dr. Paul Hubbard. A video featuring their colleagues conveying their gratitude and best wishes was showcased as part of the ceremony.
This was followed by a special awards ceremony, which saw students winning coveted flower crowns, sashes and certificates for typical and not-so-typical categories such as Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female, Best Bromance, Best Gal Pals, Social Butterfly, First Person to Arrive and Last Person to Buy Ticket.
The Ball ended with a bang as both NUMed students and staff took to the dance floor to dance the night away to catchy tunes played by the deejay.
The Secret Garden NUMed Ball 2023 was organised by the NUMed Student Association and sponsored by Fraser Place and ChowChow EcoBotanic.
