Commonwealth bronze for Newcastle University rugby talent
The Politics and Economics student scored a try in the 38-5 win over Jamaica in the first Pool B fixture, which also featured Newcastle University alumnus Rhodri Adamson, who represented Jamaica. A try by the 22-year-old talent helped lift England to a shut-out win over Samoa (33-0) in the second match of the tournament, while the third game saw England beat hosts Australia (26-17).

University rowers make a splash at a top rowing event
Competing at The BUCS 4s and 8s Head on the River Tyne, NUBC scooped four gold, seven silver and three bronze medals. The club retained its Men’s Victor Ludorum team title and improved on the performance in 2017, when Newcastle University rowers won 10 podium places.
