Last updated: 9 June 2026

If you're joining Newcastle University for part of the academic year, we're pleased to let you know that accommodation applications for part-year students will open on Wednesday 10 June at 1:00pm (UK time).

Availability and Accommodation Guarantee

Accommodation for part-year students is not guaranteed. However, we are committed to supporting you in finding suitable accommodation during your studies.

If we anticipate that we may not be able to offer you a room, we will contact you as soon as possible. We will also work with accommodation providers across Newcastle to identify available options and share this information with you.

If you would prefer to arrange your own accommodation, the Students' Union provides useful advice and resources to support your search.

What to do next

To prepare for applications opening:

  • Register an account in advance.
  • Explore the available accommodation options.
  • Be ready to submit your application when bookings open.
Exchange students

We have secured two accommodation options specifically for exchange students: Joseph Cowen Halls and Rosedale Court. Rooms will be available through our Advanced Booking process and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once all available rooms have been reserved, you will still be able to submit an accommodation application. These applications will be reviewed and processed from late August/early September.
