Extending Your Stay

We understand that your life in Newcastle doesn't end just because the academic year has.

Made plans for the summer? Or just loving Newcastle so much that you're not ready to leave? All current Newcastle University students requiring single-occupancy rooms can apply for a summer extension to stay in University accommodation until the end of August.

Summer extensions aren't guaranteed, are first come first served, and a move to Park View may be required.

Postgraduate residents at Jesmond Road and Carlton Lodge can extend their stay until September 3, 2023. Students living in Grand Hotel can apply to stay over the summer, however Grand Hotel won’t be available, so a move to Park View would be required.

Extension options for couples and families are unavailable for current residents.

If you'd like information about full year extensions please visit Returning Next Year.
