The ResLife team at Newcastle University is dedicated to ensuring that students in University-owned and managed partnership accommodation have a positive and successful transition to university. Our team is committed to making your time at the University enjoyable by providing support and facilitating the creation of new friendships. 

What items should I recycle at the University?

Recyclable items should be sorted based on the type of material they are made of, such as paper, plastic, glass, or metal. Each of our Newcastle University-owned residences has the appropriate collection points for you to recycle. Some common categories for recyclables include:

  • paper products: such as newspapers, magazines, and cardboard boxes.
  • plastic: including bottles, containers, and bags.
  • glass: including jars and bottles.
  • metal: including aluminium cans and steel containers.
