Careers in Sport 2025
Newcastle University Careers Service is hosting an exciting new event for Autumn 2025.
Organised in partnership with our NU Sport Team, Law and Business Schools, our Careers in Sport event provides current students and recent graduates from all degree disciplines an opportunity to hear from professionals in the sporting industry.
The event aims to showcase the breadth of opportunity to work within the sports industry in varying capacities, expanding on the traditional playing and coaching roles.
From sports media and psychology to governance, law and community impact, there’s something for everyone!

Exploring Careers Within a National Governing Body (NGB)

How to Gain Experience in Sports Journalism as a Student

Adam will talk about the ways that students can get a head start in writing experience while still at University, why that is so important in the modern day field of journalism, and how to get there. Dr Bike
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, Dr Bike sessions offer a great opportunity to ensure your bike is safe to ride.
Bring your bike along to the King’s Gate Foyer on Thursday, 13 November, between 10:00 – 15:00, for free, minor maintenance repairs from a WATBike mechanic.
Please note that work is carried out on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early on the day to avoid disappointment. You will need to present your Newcastle University smartcard to book your bike into the session. For further information, please visit the DrBike website.
