John’s research interest is in comparing existing sound proof models to ascertain how accurately they describe magnetic buoyancy. Their PhD research project is titled 'Buoyant Magnetic Fields in the Sun'

Project Title

'Buoyant Magnetic Fields in the Sun'

Project Description

The subject of this project involves the physical processes governing radial transport of magnetic fields in the solar interior. We are interested in comparing existing sound proof models to ascertain how accurately they describe magnetic buoyancy. Beyond that, we may look at adapting an existing model or developing a new model to describe magnetic buoyancy in the solar interior.

Education

Graduated from Newcastle University with an MMath Mathematics degree in 2019. My dissertation was in pure mathematics and was titled 'The Nichols- Zoeller Theorem'
