For undergraduates, Bowsden Court has 136 self-catered en-suite rooms in flats shared by five or six students. The flats are stylish, comfortable and social with an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area which is ideal for making new friends. 

For postgraduates, we offer two-bedroom flats that offer large rooms for single student occupancy. There is a separate fully furnished lounge, kitchen and a bathroom which includes a bath and shower. In the lounge, there is a telephone point, TV and Sky TV connection (subject to licence and subscription).

Family flats, offering two and three-bedrooms are self-contained and come fully furnished with the addition of a washing machine, so you and your family can move in and get on with family life. Access and safety

Bowsden Court is spread over two to four floors with no lift. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.

A Residences Manager is responsible for Residential Services as well as welfare and discipline and a Customer Services Manager is responsible for Reception Services.

The accommodation is two miles from campus and has excellent links to Newcastle's shops, restaurants and bars via the Metro transport system.

There are numerous local shops, pubs and food outlets as well as a large supermarket close by.

Your contract

Bowsden Court is University-owned accommodation.

The contract is a fixed term period of either 40 weeks (22 September 2019 to 28 June 2020 for undergraduate students or 17 September 2019 to 28 June 2020 for postgraduate students) or 50 weeks (17 September 2019 to 1 September 2020) and covers the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.

All utility bills are included with the exception of family flats, WiFi is free and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance.
