For undergraduates, Bowsden Court has 136 self-catered en-suite rooms in flats shared by five or six students. The flats are stylish, comfortable and social with an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area which is ideal for making new friends.
For postgraduates, we offer two-bedroom flats that offer large rooms for single student occupancy. There is a separate fully furnished lounge, kitchen and a bathroom which includes a bath and shower. In the lounge, there is a telephone point, TV and Sky TV connection (subject to licence and subscription).
Family flats, offering two and three-bedrooms are self-contained and come fully furnished with the addition of a washing machine, so you and your family can move in and get on with family life. Access and safety
Bowsden Court is spread over two to four floors with no lift. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.
A Residences Manager is responsible for Residential Services as well as welfare and discipline and a Customer Services Manager is responsible for Reception Services.

The accommodation is two miles from campus and has excellent links to Newcastle's shops, restaurants and bars via the Metro transport system.
There are numerous local shops, pubs and food outlets as well as a large supermarket close by.

South Gosforth Metro station is a short walk away on Station Road.
There are Metro trains every five minutes during the day into Newcastle city centre, taking between 10 and 15 minutes to get there.
There are also bus services from the city centre to Station Road.

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro directly to South Gosforth station.
Taxis are also available from the Central Station.
Newcastle International Airport is about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro to South Gosforth station which will take about 15 minutes.

Bowsden Court is University-Managed accommodation.
The contract is a fixed term period of either 40 weeks (23 September 2018 to 30 June 2019) or 50 weeks (18 September 2018 to 3 September 2019) and covers the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.
All utility bills are included with the exception of family flats, WiFi is free and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance.
