The team attended the 7th International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult NHL (https://cayanhl.pcrf-kids.org/), presenting our latest data from projects on BLL-11q (Alex Blain), PDX model development (Shun Chang) and the immuology of childhood heart transplantation (Ugo Offor). Well done on some great presentations.

At long last we have published our international collaboration to study a rare blood cancer which has, for many years, caused confusion over whether it is a type of lymphoma or a leukaemia.  Find out at PMID 35484682.

Our clinical study of the impact of early thymectomy on the risk of developing PTLD following a heart transplant, ITHACA, has opened to recruitment. Follow the study @ITHACA-Study.

Genomic abnormalities of TP53 define distinct risk groups of paediatric B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Congratulations to Alex Newman on publishing his study on genetic risk factors in paediatric B-NHL, work he conducted during his PhD within the Lymphoma Research group.

Congratulations to Dr Ugo Offor on being awarded a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Training Fellowship. Ugo will be continuing to study the role of thymectomy in modifying risk of PTLD in children receiving a heart transplant.

January 2021

Transplantation for congenital heart disease is associated with an increased risk of Epstein-Barr virus-related post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder in children. Well done Ugo, Simon and Zdenka Reinhardt on publishing your study identifying congenital heart disease as a risk factor for development of PTLD in children.

Germline TET2 loss of function causes childhood immunodeficiency and lymphoma. Congratulations to Sophie Hambleton supported by Chris and Meghan on publishing your identification of the immunodeficiency associated with TET2 mutations, including predisposition to lymphoma.
