Overview

Park Terrace is an exciting development situated in a prime location on campus, close to the city centre and overlooking Newcastle's Exhibition Park.

Please note that the nearby academic building is being redeveloped, and as such some noise from the building site may be experienced during your stay at Park Terrace. If you are noise sensitive, you might want to take this into consideration before applying to stay in this accommodation.

Lifestyle

Park Terrace provides en-suite bedrooms in self-catered flats varying in size from six to 11 bedrooms. The bedrooms contain four-foot beds. Each flat has a fully equipped, contemporary kitchen and comfortable common area with flat-screen TV (licence included).

Please note that building works will be ongoing at a nearby site, and as such noise from the site may be experienced during your stay. If you are noise sensitive, you might want to take this into consideration before applying to stay in this accommodation.

Access and safety

Accommodation is spread over six floors with lift. There are on-site entry-phone systems and CCTV. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.

A Residences Manager is responsible for residential services as well as welfare and discipline. A Customer Services Manager is responsible for reception services.

Location

The accommodation is in the heart of the university campus overlooking Newcastle's Exhibition Park.

It's within close walking distance of the city centre, with a fantastic range of shops and nightlife. Transport links are close by, with Haymarket Metro station just five minutes' walk away.

Your contract

Park Terrace is University-owned accommodation.

2020-2021 residents

The contract is a fixed-term period of 40 or 49 weeks and covers the duration of the academic year.

Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.

All utility bills are included; WiFi is free, and we also provide personal possessions insurance.

Reception opening times

Reception will be operating the business hours of 0800 – 1800 (Monday to Friday) from Monday 28 September. Please consider how you get in touch with us, where possible please use telephone or email to contact us.

You will be greeted by a member of our Customer Services Team on Park Terrace who will ask for your accommodation details and will let you know where to park.

Once you have parked make sure you have your ID and key release form ready to show to a member of our team. Exit your vehicle alone, leaving anyone who is with you in the vehicle. Proceed on foot with your ID and key release form to the Marquee located outside Kensington Terrace Reception – do not bring anyone else with you to the Marquee.  Follow the signage to enable social distancing.

A member of the Customer Service team will greet you and ask to see your ID and key release from. Please follow the instructions provided by the team member who will provide your key pack and inform you where to go.

Please remember that you must have vacated the drop parking bay by the end of your time slot to allow others to arrive on site.

The Customer Services team will be available to help with queries from 0800 - 1730 on Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. We ask that you do not visit our reception during arrival times to ensure that everyone is able to arrive safely.

Reception will revert to normal opening hours of 0800 – 1800 (Monday to Friday) from Monday 28 September. We ask that you please telephone or email us where possible in the first instance. If you’re unable to contact us this way, please follow our safety guidelines whilst seeing us in person.
