This £75 million development provides 1,261 self-catered en-suite bedrooms (each with a four-foot bed) in four, six, seven and eight-bedroom flats, as well as 16 single studios across six residential blocks.
Each of the flats includes a spacious communal kitchen/lounge with a flat-screen TV which is the perfect space to socialise. Outside of your flat, you will have the opportunity to meet students from other blocks in our multi-use common room, which includes a gaming area, as well as spaces for socialising and studying. You will also benefit from an on-site laundry.

Please note that the nearby Sports Centre is currently undergoing an expansion, and as such some noise from the building site may be experienced during your stay at Park View Student Village. If you are noise sensitive, you might want to take this into consideration before applying to stay in this accommodation.
Access and Safety
This accommodation is spread across six blocks of four to 10 floors, with lifts provided in each block. There are on-site entry-phone systems and CCTV. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.
A Residences Manager is responsible for Residential Services as well as welfare and discipline and a Customer Services Manager is responsible for Reception Services

For up-to-date information on public transport please use the journey planner. You will need to enter your arrival point in Newcastle in the Travel From field and enter 'Richardson Road (Spital Tongues)' in the Travel To field. You will be given details of which services operate.

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro (rapid transit system) to the Haymarket Metro station.
The Metro runs every five minutes during the day and Park View is 15 minutes’ walk from the Haymarket.
Taxis are also available from both the Central Station and Haymarket.
Newcastle International Airport is about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the Airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro to the Haymarket which will take about 25 minutes; Park View is 15 minutes’ walk from the Haymarket.

The contract is a fixed term period of 40 weeks (23 September 2018 to 30 June 2019) and will cover the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.
All utility bills are included, WiFi is free and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance.

Our accommodation is accessible to all and we support students who have particular needs or disabilities
We have four accessible studios which are fully equipped with a wardrobe with a drop-down hanging rail, manual height adjustable desk with mobile drawer unit and moveable bedside cabinet, together with a fire alarm strobe warning light and alarm pull cord system. The bedrooms are also provided with a fixed height bedframe. The studios each have their own integrated kitchen, with an ‘L’ shaped manually adjustable worktop, complete with shallow draft sink and drainer, four ring hob, all with easy reach controls. There is a lower level combination microwave oven, with its own pull-out transfer tray below and a standalone mobile trolley storage unit.
For students who prefer to share their living space, all of our seven-bed flats have one accessible en-suite study bedroom which is fully equipped with a wardrobe with a drop-down hanging rail, a fixed-height bedframe, height adjustable desk with mobile drawer unit and moveable bedside cabinet, together with a fire alarm strobe warning light and alarm pull cord system.
Communal kitchens include an area of manually adjustable worktop with a shallow draft sink and four ring hob, all with easy reach controls. There is a lower level combination microwave oven, with its own pull-out transfer tray below and a standalone mobile trolley storage unit. The communal areas within these flats are also suitable for wheelchair access.
Windows to accessible rooms and studios have the benefit of mechanically operated window openers for ease of use. All accessible rooms have an en-suite equipped with a fully accessible level access shower, thermostatic shower with an adjustable head, hinged shower seat, accessible toilet and grabrails located throughout.
Disabled refuge points are available on each staircase landing area with intercom and there is an emergency evacuation lift in all of the blocks.
All our emergency pull-cord alarms are connected directly to our reception and are monitored by Estate Security Service when reception is closed.

Information for over the Christmas Vacation
All University-owned accommodation receptions will be closed for the Christmas vacation period from Saturday 22 December and will re-open as per normal opening hours from Wednesday 2 January.
If you have an emergency outside of reception opening hours or during the Christmas vacation period, please contact Estate Security for assistance on 0191 208 6817 or by using the Help Point buttons located in the reception areas.
What to do before you leave your accommodation
Before you set off for the Christmas vacation, please remember to:
• Take ALL valuable possessions with you
• Make sure all windows and doors are locked
• Close bedroom curtains
• Switch off lights and all electrical appliances in study bedrooms
• Check taps and showers have not been left running
• Unplug radio alarms
• Dispose all of your perishable food stored within your refrigerator
• Remove all kitchen refuse from your flat
