Only a 17-minute walk away from our main campus, Turner Court is part of Portland Green Student Village (PGSV), Newcastle’s largest private student community which offers a true ‘home-away-from-home’ experience to almost 1,500 students every year. Turner Court is one of our Managed Partnership accommodation sites, owned by Abodus Student Living.


This popular accommodation offers en-suite rooms in four, five and six bedroom clusters. Each flat has an open-plan lounge/kitchen and rooms have four-foot beds, underbed storage and study area.

There is a recently refurbished social/common room exclusively for Turner Court residents with a pool table and large screen TV. It’s an ideal place to catch up with friends after a hard day studying.

As part of the Portland Green community, Turner Court residents are welcome to use the complimentary on-site facilities including a gym and a large social area, which is home to many free on-site events including pizza nights, free barbering afternoons from a local salon, monthly quiz and termly parties. PGSV is also home to a local yoga studio which offers exclusive discounts to all Portland Green residents.

There is also an external courtyard for sunny days, an on-site supermarket and Subway, so you’ll never go hungry.

Access and safety

Accommodation is spread over eight floors with lifts, entry-phone systems and CCTV. 24/7 onsite professional and friendly staff and night security staff keep a watchful eye on the buildings after dark.



This accommodation is just five minutes from the popular Ouseburn area. It's only a short walk from the campus and city centre.

Your contract

Turner Court is one of our Managed Partnership residences, owned by Abodus Student Living. The length and terms of contract differ to that of the University.

2021-2022 residents

The contract is a fixed term period of 42 weeks covering the academic year and an additional few weeks. Rents are charged per week, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges.

All utility bills are included, WiFi is free and they also provide personal possessions insurance via Endsleigh Insurance.

You'll need to pay a £150 booking fee booking fee when you accept your offer which will convert to a security deposit on the day the tenancy starts. If you are unable to make the payment prior to arrival, you may need to consider applying for different accommodation.

If you are allocated a room in Turner Court and accept it whilst holding only a Conditional Firm offer, and are unsuccessful in obtaining a place to study at Newcastle University, your room allocation will be withdrawn and your application cancelled. If you had paid any upfront fees, these will be refunded to you in full, but there may be a small delay in the refund being processed.
