Wellington St Plaza is one of our managed partnership residences, owned by Unite Students.
Only a short walk away from campus and the buzz of the city centre, this stylish residence provides spacious bedrooms and a small supermarket right on its doorstep. Each flat includes three to six en-suite rooms with small double or double beds, kitchen, and lounge areas. There are also social spaces where you can relax with friends.
Please note, if considering this residence as a preference for 2023/24 entry, Unite Students will be carrying out works to the external facade of this property between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, during the academic year. Residents will hear some low noise disruption during working hours, and see scaffolding on site. Unite Students will communicate notice of these works to all tenants ahead of them starting.

Wellington St Plaza is located next to the Business School, Frederick Douglass Centre and the Urban Sciences Building. You'll be staying in the heart of the city centre, close to the central train station and football ground, just a five-minute walk from the main shopping and restaurant areas of the city.

There are three different room options available at Wellington St Plaza: en suite, premium en suite, and premium en suite with bath. The rooms are spread out across 10 floors with lifts in every building. In addition, there is a common room with a flat-screen TV, games console, and pool table.
Wellington St Plaza's friendly reception team is available six days a week and an onsite security team is available 24/7, so you can feel extra safe and secure during your time here.
En-suite rooms are available in flats of three to six, where students share lounge and kitchen facilities. Each bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a four-foot bed (small double size), a desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk chair, under-bed storage, and shelving. For September 2023/24 applicants, there will be 449 rooms of this type available.
Premium en-suite rooms are slightly bigger in size than en suite rooms. They are available in flats of three to six, where students share lounge and kitchen facilities. Each bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a 4.6-foot bed (double size), a desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk chair, under-bed storage, and shelving. For September 2023/24 applicants, there will be 78 rooms of this type available.
Premium en-suite with bath rooms are bigger than premium en suite rooms. They are available in flats of three to six, where students share lounge and kitchen facilities Each bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a 4.6-foot bed (double size), a desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk chair, under-bed storage, and shelving. These rooms have the addition of an en suite with a bath. For September 2023/24 applicants, there will be 23 rooms of this type available.

Our Campus Food Fob is perfect for students living in self-catered accommodation who want to take the pressure off needing to cook. You’ll receive a University Catering Food Fob that’s pre-loaded with your chosen amount of credit to spend on food and drink in any of our cafés.
Plus, you’ll receive an extra 15% free credit each time you top up (e.g. top up with £100 and you’ll receive £115) to spend in catering units.
Campus Food Fobs will be available to purchase from our website from August 2023.
Accommodation fees
Wellington St Plaza is one of our Managed Partnership residences, owned by Unite Students. The terms of contract differ to that of the University, and you will require a guarantor and an upfront payment of £250.
The contract is a fixed term period of 40 weeks and covers the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per week. If your contract differs to the fixed term period (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges. All utility bills are included; WiFi is free, and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance via Endsleigh Insurance.
