Awards, Competitions & Project Funding
Celebrate and get recognition for your achievements outside your degree.
Being at university is so much more than your course. At Newcastle, you can get involved with a range of opportunities and activities outside your degree. As well as gaining valuable experience, you can also get recognition for your achievements through our awards.
With the Ncl+ Award, you can demonstrate to employers the skills you've gained from extra-curricular activities and gain credit on your Higher Education Achievement Report.
The Ncl+ Career Insights Award offers an exciting range of activities and work experience, from working on a group business project with a global employer to attending a fully-funded visit to key graduate employers.
Gain recognition for your contribution to university life and extra-curricular activities through the Pride of Newcastle University Awards. Winners attend a celebration dinner and receive formal recognition on their degree transcripts.
The START UP Awards celebrate and recognise the achievements of students and recent graduates exploring the world of start-up.
The Student Initiative Fund (SIF) offers students and recent graduates funding of up to £500 and other support to run student-led extracurricular projects.
Competitions can also be a great way to stand out to employers and many offer internships as prizes. There are lots of national and international competitions open to students - see External competitions to help you find them.
